Country-Specific Tags

To accommodate differences in financial regulations and practices in different countries, the ACORD Specification allows extensions to be created that allow additional information to be passed between clients and servers that implement messages under an individual country's regulations. Elements, Aggregates, or Messages that are added to the ACORD Specification to support the needs of a single country should use custom tag names with a prefix that is the ISO-3166 three-letter country code. All three-letter tag name prefixes in the ACORD Specification are reserved for country-specific tag names.

In addition, the two-character prefix "EU" has been reserved for use by the European Union.
